The Voices Of Survivors : Domestic Violence Survivors Educate Physicians, American College of Physicians American Society of Internal Medicine, 1999
The voices and stories of survivors are at the center of this educational video. Christine Nicolaidis, MD, MPH narrates the video, which is based on interviews she conducted with 21 survivors of domestic violence. In seeking to help medical practitioners understand domestic violence from the perspectives of those who have survived, Nicolaidis asked her interviewees to explain how their needs could have best been met by doctors and medical personnel when they sought care. The video is an effort to bridge the potential disconnects between physicians and their patients.
