  • April 22. To celebrate the 175th anniversary, a joint exhibition featuring National Library of Medicine collections will open in the Document Gallery of the National Museum of American History.

LaFerme Restaurant, Chevy Chase, MD.  The Friends of the National Library of Medicine celebrates the 175th anniversary of the NLM.   Special invited guests included Eleanor Clift, "The McLaughlin Group," and Rep. Chris Van Hollen, member of Maryland's congressional delegation. Rep. Van Hollen presented Dr. Donald Lindberg a congressional citation on the occasion of the NLM's 175th anniversary.
  • May 4. Senator Tom Harkin introduces S. Res. 163 commemorating the 175th anniversary of the United States National Library of Medicine.
  • May 13-18. Medical Library Association’s Annual Convention in Minneapolis, MN. NLM Board of Regents Resolution to be presented to MLA commending the MLA for its support of the NLM, its programs and services, on the occasion of the Library’s 175th anniversary.
